Hull St marylebone 1799/ 1809 marriage
« on: Friday 12 June 15 06:01 BST (UK) »
 Hi,
Can any make a suggestion I have been looking for a marriage of this person William Hull born approx 1786 Cordwainer who lived in Grays Inn Barrett's court St Marylebone in the 1800 he married a Susanna ??? (could be Bird) I am assuming St Marylebone. I am also assuming 1799/1800. Most of his children are listed in the parish records of St Marylebone. His wife died in 1840 William died under the name Hall in 1855 in the  St Marylebone workhouse. My daughter is going to London and I trying to find places for her to look for me . Is there any more St Marylebone church records to view in London?

Thanks in advance for your help

Kind regards

Brenny

FindMyPast has some possible marriages?

1802, St George Hanover Square
1807, St Martin-in-the-Fields

You can buy credits to enable you to look at these.

Ancestry should also have some marriage records - does your local library have Ancestry?
I can't see the details, but Ancestry is pointing towards Susanna Candler?

Both parishes were in The City of Westminster.
Parish Registers will be at the City of Westminster Archives Centre, and digitised on FindMyPast.

Thanks  for the information,

Ive been a member of both but sadly Ancestry one is not the one they are too young married date is 1823 already had a few children by then. I will re check findmypast but I think its still another family.

One census record said he was from Yeovil should I look there? I don't know how reliable the census record is ?

kind regards

Hi

The William Hull born Yeovil was in Greenwich Hospital in 1851, a pensioner.  The 1851 with a place name could be more reliable than the Y/N reply in 1841.  :-\

Where do you have him in 1841

When was his first child born

Hi Brenny,

Can you list the Children you ave for them please?

I have found;
FRANCES ELIZABETH, 24 Feb 1822
MARIA CLARKE, 6 June 1824
CHARLES, 16 April 1827
FREDERICK Uriah, 17 Aug 1829
ELIZA, 7 Sept 1831
All St Marylebone to WILLIAM/SUSANNA Hull

+ a possible JOHN, 7 July 1816, Shoreditch St Leonard with same Parents names.

Do you have earlier Children to them?

I presume this is the Family in 1841;
William Hull, 55, Shoemaker
Thomas Hull, 20
Charles Hull, 15
Frederick Hull, 13
Maria Hull, 15

The reason I am seeking earlier Children you have is this;
I can find earlier Children to a WILLIAM or WM/WILLM Hall and SARAH SUSANNA SOPHIA or SUSANNAH SOPHIA in the same area 1803 to 1808

FreeREG has this Marriage;
27 June 1802, St George Hanover Square
William HALL, Bachelor, Parish St James, Westminster
Sarah Susanna Shophia CHOPPIN, Spinster, Father FREDK Choppin
By Licence, & with consent of her father

May be just a coincidence but William/Susanna name a Son Frederick .

Trish :)

Hi,
Sorry thats not the one 1840 he was living in Grays Inn Barrett court St Marylebone first child Susanna
I think was born 9/11/1809  St Giles Cripplegate listed father William as Cordwainer and mother Susanna,
William next 9/7/1813 St Botolph without Bishopgate
John next 12/6/1816 St Leonard Shoreditch
Thomas next 14/9/1818        "
the next 5 were all born at St Marylebone last one born 1830 wife died in 1840.

kind regards

Brenny

Hi Trish,

Yes you have the right ones I come done through Frederick I have his marriage certificate which states his mothers name was Susanna bird /bryd? Its a Australian marriage certificate from Victoria 1859
wondering if you have the one?

 Also have the death cert. of Susanna living in Barrett court William has listed as being present at the time of death .But it doesn't list a maiden name .
