Great likeness, Xinia, how lovely to have that connection.

But likenesses aren't always in facial features, are they - it's in mannerisms and ways of speaking.
My brother and I aren't at all alike in facial features, but we are very alike in manner.

I can often see echoes of likenesses in photographs, without being able to quite pin down which facial feature it is.  My son is very like his great great uncle in a photo taken when his great great uncle was in his teens - but I'm not sure he will look like the same man in later life, or like the man's son.

Oh wow, so very much alike, everytime i look in the mirror i see my mother looking back at me and everytime i look at my daughter i see myself at a younger age. It gives me a sense of belonging, i hope it does for you too.
I found via facebook a man who turned out to be a (not sure of the technically correct terminology) second cousin, he looked so much like my grandma! His surname was the same as her maiden name so took a chance and his grandfather was my grandma's half brother. Strong genes must run in the family.
On the other hand my son looks nothing like either my husband or myself but, boy oh boy does he have double doses of hubby's personality and both his grandfather's!!!  :o

Your photographs could easily be asking if the two people are the same person. You look so very much alike.

Although I think we see what we want in resemblance of people and many times people have told me I look very much like my dad and my sister... but what they don't know is he is my step father and she is my step sister and we are not related in anyway

My great gran Catherine and her siblings all had distinctive eyes and certain facial features, and their mothers sister, that Elizabeth Jacques nee Roberts looked just like her great niece as a younger woman, Catherine's daughter. Also, Elizabeth's and Kate Coombs (nee Roberts) half sister Ann Luff nee Roberts daughter Essie also had similar facial features.

And as said many of them were dressmakers, tailoresses.

My husband's dad was commenting at the weekend at how similar our youngest son is to him (husband's dad).  And there is a really strong resemblance in features, mannerisms and personality.  However, husband's dad is really step-dad, so there is no blood relation to our son at all............  A bit of seeing what you want to see, and also nature vs nurture (husband doesn't remember 'real' dad at all and lived with step dad since he was 5ish).

But if you are blood related and you can see the striking family features then there is nothing at all about "seeing what we want to see". My nan and her brother look alike as do many other relatives of mine who are related. That is certainly not imagination.
