Been reflecting:-  a bit dangerous at my age.
But Nan Esther died in 1940  I was born 1946

So....

funny that I was the only one able to take care of my Pops (her only son) in his last few years..

Of course my mind is in overdrive...  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)

Your hairstyle is very nice Xinia, and there is a really strong resemblance.

My eldest son resembles my great grandfather very much even to the beard which is dark but going grey in the middle, exactly the same .G.Grandfather was 1841- 1902 , son born  1957, so 58 in a little while.
I never thought I looked like my Mum but attending the funeral of my Mum`s youngest sister my cousins were amazed how like her I was. We`d not met in over 50 years.

Wow  you definitely look like each other!, the same sort of eyes besides other things. Great pictures!

My grandfather (my mum's father) used to say to me that I am the spit of his mother, I  really can't see it myself. I have a photo of her and I look absolutely nothing like my great gran - well not yet anyway (photo is when she is in her 50s). She's a lot shorter than myself too ( perhaps  he didn't mean looks, perhaps he meant that I was bossy like his mother, which is probably more like it  ;D)
I always thought I look more like my father and his mother , and nothing like my mum or her side. It's funny what people see.

My little boy on the other hand reminds me of my mum's sister, same sad *old(*knowing) puppy dog eyes.
Kind Regards :)

Loving that likeness to your gran xin!  Amazing!

I have a dimple in my chin, as did my mother, my grandmother and my great grandfather!  And my son, and one of his sons! And a couple of cousins have it running through their children as well!

Funny things that are passed on genetically, I have two double jointed toes , the middle toe on both feet, my son and my father have exactly the same on the same two toes. It's obviously been passed down from my father to me then my son, but I would love to know did my father get it from his mother or father - and how far back did these bendy toes go  ;D, was it ggg George, or perhaps ggggg Thomas, or Mary. I wish I had asked my grandparent(s) if they had the same, but when I was a child I thought my double jointed toes were normal, and everybody could do the same.
Makes me wonder what else they passed on to me, those are the things  that we can see, what about the things we can't see.

Kind Regards

I'm waiting for that elusive highly intelligent gene to appear!  It had better hurry though, because the memory gene is getting pretty dodgy!    ::) ::)

I dont think handwriting is genetic, that is learned but I think in terms of occupations, that can be a bit of both, nature and nurture. Ie a family of printers, or tailors. Dress makers etc.

My great great gran and her sisters were tailoresses and so was their paternal grandmother and her sister. I think the right tools and learning plays a big part but I think some of it is the genetic factor.
