Would like any information on The sutton Family from Liverpool.

Hi Maria

If you look at the bottom of the page under Your Tools - click on Surname Interests and you can see if anyone else is researching the Sutton Family. Best of luck  :)

I have been searching for years on Info on a william sutton of Liverpool, I believe I have now found the right family.
Is there anyone who is also researching Suttons of Liverpool.
My William Sutton was born 1870-1872 son of John sutton B1835 and Ann sutton 1830 not sure of her maiden name.

Williams siblings
John b1857
Alice H b1858 Married Thomas Smith
Richard b 1861
Annie b 1864
Elizabeth B1866
Amelia 1869
William 1870/2

I believe william married a Elizabeth Taylor and Had William b 1894, Daniel Thomas b1896, John 1898, Richard b1900 I think Elizabeth died in 1905 then he married a Catherine Kitty
Sutton nee Baker formally Hughes 1910 and had a child John b 1911.
Has anyone got any further info form me.

Regards Maria

If you can track it down, William's birth certificate will give his mother's maiden name.

As warncoot suggests, if you can find the family in the censuses, their places of birth should give you clues about where to search for births and marriages.

I get the impression you are not very experienced in family history research. Apologies if I have got that wrong. It's just that you seem fairly unsure of several facts, and I am just wondering how you managed to get to the 1800s, and if you are certain that you are following the correct Suttons? (it is so easy to follow the wrong family). For example, do you have any certificates to back up your findings so far?

Not intending to be critical, but just double checking that these are definitely your Suttons before people spend time looking for them.  :)

Although we are not related to your family we can still try to help you.

I have just followed the trail back from the 1910 marriage to the 1871 census and I think you are on the right lines.

William's father John Sutton was a coal merchant per the 1910 marriage register and he was a coal agent in the 1871 census. Before that, he seems to have been a greengrocer.

Alice Holland Sutton, father John, married Thomas Alfred Smith at St Mary's Kirkdale on 25 March 1878.  She was baptised on 4 April 1878 at St Peter's. Father John Sutton, green grocer of Everton. Mother Ann.  Residence Everton.

Hi Guys, Thank-you so much for your help.

WARNCOORT Thanks for helping I believe John and Ann where Both from Speke, Liverpool.

I have tried getting William B 1870 ? John and Ann's child but GRO is down.

RUSKIE I have had great success with looking for my other family but this Sutton lose me completely I have gone over everything today and am a 100% up until i find my g grandfather William Sutton B1870 I haven't got Bc yet, however through census I know his Parents are John b1835 and Ann b1830 there is a possibility Ann may also be a Sutton formally.

A few people on GU have carried out some research and that is where my confusion started, whereas most of the Suttons I was aware of where around Liverpool city centre, they believed that Ann's family originated around Formby.

SHAUNJ  Thanks I have all the details up to William b1870 and all his siblings haven't got any BC from that line need to try and sort it but i have most of the Baptisms.

Best wishes

Maria
