mystery entry in 1841 census

An entry on the 1841 census refers to a 16 year old as "On The Parish A Carpille".
I can find no trace as to what it means. Any ideas please.

Sorry, I just realised that it is a mistranslation - it should say 'A Cripple'.

Obviourseally!
