Previous Military Service Unit Query
« on: Saturday 06 June 15 20:37 BST (UK) »
We have a relative from South Shields, UK who served in WW1 - on his papers, under the "Previous Military Service" it shows what looks to be 3rd DGAV - anyone have an idea of the full unit name?

Hi

D.G.A.V. could stand for Durham Garrison Artillery (Volunteers) although that doesn't appear to be the correct name.

I was trying to get 'volunteers' into the dragoon guards one, but Durham and Volunteers fits a whole lot better.
