Still no invite or anything else on my laptop.  I'll just wait until everyone else has tried it out and given their opinions, then download it.

Curiouser & curiouser - just powered up my Laptop (1st time in a couple of weeks - having left it WINX 'ready', ie with the GWX Icon there in the Taskbar) ..... notified me of a WIN7 update, did it, restarted and the WINX Icon has gone - still in the Configure list, and still showing as 'available' in WIN Update  .... bit of a worry tho !

The Icon is still showing on this Desktop.

Ta for the Heads-Up that it launches straight into Upgrade .....  :)

Upgraded on my work laptop this afternoon, took a while but all seems ok.  Followed Falkryn's advice on customised settings.  Kind of glad I did, they want access to know everything barring what colour I painted my bathroom walls!!!!! :)

Still not had an invite to my own laptop with Win7 but at least I get to see what its like with work laptop first!  ;D

Well, I decided to go ahead with the upgrade on my laptop... Its still chugging away with the upgrade 53% so far so good. But it is taking a time, longer than microsoft suggest.

If, I had waited on my pc, I would have got another message asking me whether I wanted to start the upgrade now or wait till late.  No harm done though as its still waiting on my pc.

Well, the idea that a few million early testers would get priority, seems to have gone out of the Window .... theres at least 3 here on RC who have it downloaded .... still waiting  ::)

I still haven't had an invitation to register.  I did all the checking that microsoft suggested and had all the updates to 8.1 that were listed.  Then guess what I checked again today and there are 2 more updates required.  One of them was only downloaded yesterday and I can't find the other one yet.  I guess it's going to be nearly a year from 29 July (i.e. today) until everyone can download Windows 10.  My OH has Windows 7 and he had the invitation to register and yesterday the invitation to download Windows 10 although he hasn't bothered yet.

something odd happening on my PCs - both no longer show the WINX 'invitation/reservation' Icon ...

can anyone who has 'reserved' and now downloaded check please to see if they still have the ICON - or remember if it was there during the actual download ?

Cheers !

The icon disappears but if you open windows update, win10 is sitting waiting for you.

Update done, settings modified ::) but my screen has frozen. I might have to force a reboot if it doesn't unlock itself

Mine downloaded, the icon has remained, but still to reserve, not the 'Your PC is ready for your free upgrade' flag.
