Hello,
I would like help in finding the parents/siblings of Isabella McVeigh
- found in 1851 Census Ballinderry Lurganteneil - age 21 - married to Henry Horner.
- found in 1901 Census Antrim Derrykillultagh - age  70.
I have the marriage certificate - but parents were not mentioned.

Hi,
According to the Ulster Historical Foundation the marriage took place in 1852 but it also omits the fathers' names.

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry
Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

Hello, I didn't expect to get interest and feedback so quickly, so thank you Maggsie, Kingskerswell and Iluleah. You have all come across the right family indeed and  I can confirm that I have the birth certificates of the children.
Regarding Iluleahs's reply I have a couple of questions.

Where did you get hold of the death information?
Did I understand correctly that Isabella's mother's name was Isabella mcVeigh? In that case was that her maiden name or married name and was there no mention of the father's name?

Expat,
The usual reason for not listing a father's name on a marriage certificate was that the person had been born "out of wedlock".

They are just from bmd indexing....... I wouldn't take much notice of "detail" you will need to prove them all with real records. Northern Irish deaths so not have parents names on the death certs, so I would think that is an "creative addition" on transcription

I was looking at some Ballinderry burials earlier and noticed a Margaret McVeigh ( widow) buried in Ballinderry, however Mc Veigh is like Smith in this part of the world
