You can look up birth, death and marriage details at

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

From the info found there certificates can be ordered online from

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

There are a couple of trees on Ancestry that have Richard Arthur on them. He was born 1885 and died in France in WW1. Married Florence SPAULDING in 1907.

In 1891 census he was living with his grandparents Joseph and Dinah in Aylesbury. His parents appear to be Joseph De Fraine and Mary Jellis.

Richard Arthur De Fraine's CWGC record http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/1609635/

Amazingly his army papers have survived and are viewable on FindMyPast (2 files)

He had earlier service in Suffolk Regiment and in the Rifle Brigade and was presumably in the reserve mobilised on the outbreak of war.

Presumably his mother remarried - she is named in the WW1 army file as Mary Marsh, 112 Leagrave Road Luton.

Richard had three half-sisters: Rose, Lily and Violet Marsh; and a brother Harold De Fraine.
