Needing restoration of photo

Hi Everyone

I am hoping someone can please help with this.  Wondering if a cleaner picture would show anything on the uniform to help establish if he was in the royal marines as purported or other.
Wanting to eventually find his war records.  He came from Yorkshire - West Riding, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

You might be better off posting this on the armed forces board.  They may well recognise the uniform. 

Looks army to me, but trust me I know zip!

I was hoping that it could be restored to a much better quality and then I would do that - Do you think Pablo's kind efforts have made it clear enough for recognition of uniform?

Very possibly as there are some very cluey people on that board!

I've had a bit of play, but as it's a very tiny image that you've downloaded from the net, there is not much to work with.

Was there any other information with the photo that might give some clues?

Thank you for your help and restoring effort - the uniform does look similar to the picture.  I shall put the photo on the other section as you suggest and see how it goes
