Have you got the family on the 1851 census?

Wanted a more accurate birth than the census, just to help with death information.

There was a 1875 marriage in Melksham Wiltshire of a James Shepherd to Jane Alford - Q1 1875 - 5a 174  - have you discounted this one  ???

Melksham would only be a few miles away from Atworth.

Also notice that ancestry trees quote this marriage but name Jane Alford as Hephzibah Jane Alford born 24 September 1854 to Stephen and Hephzibah Alford - Atworth Wiltshire.  ??? None source the couple after this event  ::)

There is a possible marriage at Chippenham in 1884 of an Ellen Sheppard to George Frank Merrett - 5a 121 - Q4 - Dec 1884.  (Chippenham would not be to far from Atworth and Melksham)
