There was a 1875 marriage in Melksham Wiltshire of a James Shepherd to Jane Alford - Q1 1875 - 5a 174  - have you discounted this one  ???

Melksham would only be a few miles away from Atworth.

Also notice that ancestry trees quote this marriage but name Jane Alford as Hephzibah Jane Alford born 24 September 1854 to Stephen and Hephzibah Alford - Atworth Wiltshire.  ??? None source the couple after this event  ::)

Sandra

Just found a reference to the marriage -

Marriage - 23 January 1875 - Conigree Chaple, Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Hi

Not at all Woodley   ;)-  You managed to get all the other members of the family yourself so hopefully James and Ellen filled the gaps.  Thoroughly enjoyed working on this one for you.

All the best
