ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS WW1
« on: Wednesday 29 April 15 09:16 BST (UK) »
Medical Card copy reads: STACEY, Enoch C.
Rank: Pte
Regtl No. 70929
Medal: Victory & British
Roll: RAMC/101B18 page 1245.   Nothing else
After searching for his Service Records, I suppose it was amongst the lot lost in WW2 bombing.

Can one progress further the Medal details?

Thanks.... Lynsmum

Hi Lynsmum

Just to say that the British War Medal was issued to everyone who left their homeland on war service and the Victory Medal to all those who entered a theatre of war.  5 to 6 million of these medals were awarded so there is little more to say about them.  In sum, your man went abroad somewhere and was in a war theatre.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Many thanks for your response.
Gather, I will never know where he served as a stretcher bearer.

Sadly, very unlikely without other substantial clues to the unit(s) he served with.  A long shot would be if he appeared on the 1918 absent voters list for the area he called home.  See
http://www.1914-1918.net/soldiers/avl.html for info.  If he is findable there however, it may simply say RAMC rather than give a unit.

I presume you saw the comment on Ancestry relating to the medal card by "flowersbysara" (perhaps that's you?).

Evening maxD,
Ancestry: didn't see the comment and certainly not me.
Will revisit Ancestry tomorrow.
Enoch left England July 1922 for Australia.
Had 2 births in Sheffield ....June Qtr 1916 & March Qtr 1920.
The Absent Voters Lists - Found York Central Library has lists, will contact them .. fingers crossed.
Many thanks for your  assistance.
