Such a lovely house.  But what is the address?  Now it could be a pub somewhere.  I do hope it wasn't demolished.

Could it be a cottage attached to a coachhouse to a bigger property. That may explain the brick addition ie stables.

I don't have more time to check this out further right now but is it possible that this is what we're looking for but redeveloped with an extension. I can see the roof line and chimney from the original photo. Its in Chiddingstone.

You have a great record in finding places s_l but I would be hesitant to say this is one.

Close. My argument would centre around the differences in chimneys and the middle wing. The original has 2 defined wings either side and I cant fit the 3rd one in.

I do recognise the argument in it being a redevelopment but not to that extent for me. Happy to be proved wrong

Sorry SL, I don't think it is the same building.  Roof line is similar in part, but windows, chimney, lower story, and half timbered patterning are all different.

Specifically in regards to half timbering, the curved patterns in the original photo seem to be quite unusual. As i understand it the timbering in original tudor buildings came from the frame so curves would be unusual. So it might be possible that it was only decorative not structural?

SL, I believe that the mystery house is a purpose built Victorian house mimicking medieval half timbered buildings. I believe the building you provided a link to has older origins but has been much altered over the years. It looks to be, or was at one time, an Inn perhaps. The part on the left where there is a entry to the rear of  the building, appears quite old.

Now S_L may have provided a rear view but I also cant match the shape of the road. Once again modern engineering etc but I cant believe a road would deviate too much from a curve to a straight. I feel the town would have grown along the road

I agree with Mock Tudor, those timbers look far too uniform and are probably more decorative than structural. Maybe from around the time of the Arts and Crafts Movement ?  Even so, apparently they were expensive to build and so the owners were probably quite well off. It does seem to be in it's own quite extensive grounds but could now be in the middle of a housing estate.
