Accessing archive materials in Wellington
« on: Monday 27 April 15 12:43 BST (UK) »
A bit of a general query here, I have found a couple of items of interest on the NZ Archives website, unfortunately these are not available online and require a visit to the archives in Wellington, unfortunately I'm in Scotland so that is out of the question,
does anyone know of transcribers prepared to visit the archives

Hi Jim,

If you need a lookup or two at Archives NZ in Wellington just post a new request along the lines of, Lookup request, Wellington Archives please and provide details.

It's very helpful if you can also provide the link to the specific files you want as I can order them in advance from home.

I'm happy to go hunting for you.

I'll sign off this topic as completed.

Regards

Hello Jim,
A member of the NZ Society of Genealogists in Wellington may be able to assist you.
The Archive is in the central city.
I too am away from Wellington so unable to assist, sorry.
I will ask a cousin and see if he could  possibly...I know he can be busy himself.
Distance is such a problem sometimes for family historians!!
Hopefully we will be over to do more research ourselves in the Borders and Glasgow later this year...
We love Scotland
