This is a signature at the bottom of a painting which belonged to my husband's grandmother. I think the surname is Newton but I can't make out the first name. Any help please!

Hi, yes, Miss S Newton gets my vote, with a "Long" S in Miss.
Quite a while ago, I was told about the "Long" S here on RootsChat as I thought a word was "Heffle" when in fact it was "Hessle"
