Help Please Return from USA to UK

Could someone kindly help me find a Thomas J Price (46) wife Margaret (43) and adopted daughter Ada Esther Lewis (7) return to UK from America about 1888/89.

I can't see them on an Incoming List. Whilst , in theory , the lists start in 1878 , many pre 1890 lists were destroyed by the Board of Trade in 1900. Lists of passengers departing from America were not kept at all.

Thank you for your help....that's the reason i can't find them then, if only i new the exact date it would have helped.
Is it possible for you to look them up when they emigrated in 1870 from Liverpool, Thomas would have been (29) and Margaret (24)

I've had a quick look and can't spot them at the moment - there are quite a number of people with the same name and similar dates. I have to go out but will look again later if no one else has found them in the meantime. Do you have them on the 1880 US census ?

Not having any luck , I'm afraid. There are no lists of passengers leaving UK for this period so it's a case of looking at US records , or even possibly Canada. I wondered if this might be them in 1880 :

( I spotted that he was from a farming family in Wales - probably your tree , I expect )

Thank you for your help , yes this is them on the 1880 census in Bates, no sign of Ada? they returned to the UK around 1888/89 and i have them on the 1891 census in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales.
I know that they emigrated to USA from Liverpool in 1870 as it is written on the trunk they took with them, but i can't find any documentation.
