HELP PLEASE: John McMurray, New York
« on: Friday 03 April 15 13:34 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am trying to trace a John / Johnathan McMurray who was born in 1896 in Newtownhamilton, Armagh and emigrated to America around 1929. He married Ellen Fisher (born Belfast 1905) in Manhattan in 1934, and on the 1940 census they were living in Assembly District 3, Queens, New York City with their son. Here is a link to the census-

Any help is much appreciated 😃

Might this be a living person ?  It is one of the rules of the site that we cannot name living people so if that were the case, you would need to remove his name. Sorry  :'(

Ah Sandra didn't realise  :( is there anywhere you can trace living relatives? I'll delete the post now.

Not a problem.

Try http://www.whitepages.com/  - seems to be one listed and possibly the right sort of age- so you could be lucky.

Thank you. I've edited my previous post as well to search for information about John - I know for a fact he is no longer living. I hope this is ok? If not I can delete. Ill check out whitepages now. Thanks again.

Thank you shelly! Those links were so informative - although sad too! If anyone else has any info they can share it is much appreciated. I'm hopeless at searching unfortunately.
