Polish Airman from WW2 settled in London
« on: Saturday 28 March 15 23:25 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on a Polish Airman who settled in England after his post war demobilisation from the air force.  He left quite a cold trail and all that I have been able to find was that he died in London on 22nd September 1951 aged 42.  No indication of where in London or cause of death at such an early age.

His name was Zdzislaw Eugeniusz KOSTYRKA

Any ideas would be well received!

Hi he actually did not die in London rather the Surrey area?

Zdzislaw E Kostyrka Dec qtr 1951 Surrey N Volume 5g page 340 aged 42

Purchase of this certificate would indicate cause of death and place.

Thanks Keyboard86, that is the best information I have had so far!  I have been trying to track the entire crew of a Wellington Bomber - they flew 20 missions together and seriously damaged a U-boat but they have left very little trace after the war.  I appreciate your contribution.

according to a tree on A******y
Eugene died 17 Sept 1951 Kingston on Thames
Pamela Rose died 17 Nov 1994 Dereham Norfolk

It seems they had 3 children together - who will probably still be living so cannot name them

Pamela Rose may have been pregnant with the 3rd child when Eugene died

To Keyboard86 and Suzard,

Thank you, this is amazing information!  I have been banging my head against a brick wall and getting nowhere!  I am trying to create a memorial which will include the crew of 6 of a Wellington Bomber.  They served us very well in WW2 and I am trying to honour them but I have, so far, only made contact with one of the families.  I realise that you cannot mention living people and I can well understand the reasons for that.  But now I know where in the country that I should be looking

With thanks to all who replied, I am delighted to say that I have found out a considerable amount of information (overnight!) about him.  To Keyboard86 - I am delighted with the information and sources you supplied.  To Suzard - phenomenal!  I have made the email contact with his American family/contacts and I am just waiting for results.
