I am only 5 miles from Widnes - do you think Mary Kate may be buried in St Bedes ? - re the other link Text T has posted ?
ADDED
I have just checked on AARoutefinder - I am 8 miles from my house to the St Bedes churchyard ...my wife goes to Widnes market every Wednesday - I could pop in to the churchyard and have a look on Wednesday ? - weather permitting .
ADDED again
I see that Text T states the records for Widnes are kept in Widnes Library - before I go to the churchyard I could check in Widnes library where Mary Kate Clarke is buried ?

garsonite --that would be amazing  :D it would be great if you could as I feel pretty helpless down here at the moment ---im hoping to come to widnes when I have all the info together to do a "grave visiting trip" and mary Catherine and George eli are the last two I need to find ,I believe I have found George eli Clarke in st mary the virgin prescot as he died in 1880 in whiston workhouse ,he is registered as ELI and not George eli , so I just need to contact the church and see if they have the burial records so I can find the row and plot number --not sure where to look if they don't have it ---will be willing to pay any costs to you for looking for mary burial for me , she would have been my great aunt  ,a million thanks for you doing this ,xx

I have looked at the microfilm in Widnes Library of St Marie’s RC Widnes burials for Catherine Clarke but she is not recorded there.  Strangely, although the church was founded in 1865, burials do not appear to have been carried out in any number until late in 1873.  The first two burials recorded are for 1861 (odd, since the church was not founded for another four years), these have been entered and then crossed out.  The next three are for 1865, and then there are no more until 1873.  Also, all of these burials are consecutively numbered, so there are no missing pages.

So it seems likely that the funeral service and burial were both carried out at St Bede's.

(I also checked the burials at St Mary's CofE in West Bank Widnes just in case the service took place there, but it did not.)

I also originally looked for Catherine as the Mary in your first post did not have a capital M and I missed it as part of her name, then I put my glasses on  ;D
