Soldier relative appearing on 1905 photo?
« on: Thursday 19 March 15 11:58 GMT (UK) »
I recently came across a photo of 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers taken in 1905 and knowing my GGF was serving with NF at this time and given the pic was a decent resolution I thought it was worth a scan for him.

I found a soldier who had a similar shaped face and overlay a picture of him* taken in 1905 and his facial features scaled perfectly.

You can of course, make anything convincing using photoshop and there's always an element of wishful thinking with these things, but it looks like a good match, does anyone agree?

*Original photo on left, 50% blend in middle, 100% on right.

Took a while to even spot it.
It's a very good match IMHO.
