Army posted to Theydon Bois, Essex WWII
« on: Tuesday 17 March 15 01:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I'm trying to find out when during WWII members of the York and Lancaster Regiment were posted at Theydon Bois in Essex.

Also what was the name of the camp at Theydon Bois?

Thank you and kind regards,
Samantha

According to http://www.airfieldinformationexchange.org/community/showthread.php?6822-Army-Camps-Barracks-Essex the army camp at Theydon Bois was called Hill Hall.  From a quick googlesearch it seems to have been a transit camp and a signals base.

All the best
Philip

Thank you philipsearching for the link.  I do wonder if that's it or not as it says it was 'occupied by 1st and 2nd Battalion The Welsh Guards during the Spring of 1940 before leaving for the Hook of Holland'.  If you are more familiar with military history do you think that others were also in the camp eg York and Lancaster Regiment?

Kind regard,
Samantha
