how to research a house?
« on: Monday 16 March 15 02:53 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am wanting to find out information about a house that I lived in as a child but am unsure where to look to get information. I use to live at 549 Aberdeen Ave in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I am wanting to know who the previous owners were and if anything bad ever happened at that house. Also my mom wants me to find out information about her childhood house that she grew up in as well so any information would be great on how I can start this journey of finding about houses that family members have lived in
thank you for reading my post and look forward to the replies
have a great evening
Sarah

I would , first, check online for any Ontario Directories , such as the ones produced in England and Australia ie England has Kellys Directories and Australia has Sands and McDougalls that , after trawling through many pages, you might find the information you want

Or try this http://www.ontariogenealogy.com/ontariocountydirectories.html

This one looks better
