Hi All,

Here's what "the book" previously referenced has for the areas you are asking about.  Most have been mentioned already but I don't want anyone to think I'm ignoring them  ;D

I've lifted the entire county entries as I've no idea about the geography of specific parishes.

Aberdeenshire

1801   Birse (people named)
1801   Peterhead
1811   Birse (people named taken in 1812)
1811   Glentanar (people named taken in 1812)

...and the 1695 poll books.

Edinburgh

Decennial: Nothing for the city but yes for Dalkeith, Stow, Inveresk, Roslin.

Lanarkshire

1821   Lesmahagow

Ross-shire

1821   Barras (taken in 1819)
1821   Uig (taken in 1819)

Gloucestershire

1801   Great Badminton
1801   Bristol St Augustine the Less
1801   Hawkesbury
1801   Olveston (people named)
1801   Tortworth
1801   Woolaston (people named)

1811   Great Badminton
1811   Bristol St Augustine the Less
1811   Horsley
1811   Mickleton
1811   Naunton
1811   Rendcombe
1811   Tortworth

1821   Aust
1821   Great Badminton
1821   Barnsley (people named)
1821   Bisley
1821   Bristol St Augustine the Less
1821   Mickleton
1821   Stratton
1821   Stroud
1821   Woolaston

1831   Arlingham (taken 1830)
1831   Bisley
1831   Bitton

1608   Gloucestershire census of men inc occupations can be found in county archive.
1696   "The inhabitants of Bristol in 1696" Bristol Record Society (1968)
1742   Olveston - a list of 125 heads of household hels by Bristol Record Office
1795   Uley - a plan of the village referenced to a named list of occupants. Used in the book "The Story of Uley" 1910

Hope this is of help,
Pam

I should of said the Decennial census are headcounts unless stated as named.

I have seen the the full 1831 census for Scotland - agin just a headcount, it is fascinating.  Not a great use for specific family history but great for understanding teh area our folks lived in.

Jersey, Channel Island has an Oath of Association Roll dated 1696.  These are people who signed the Oath of Allegiance to King James.

Contains the signatures of every male living in Jersey.

Book "Did your ancestors sign the Jersey Oath of Association Roll of 1696" by Alex Glendinning.  Available via Channel Islands FHS

Boongie Pam,
months have passed and I have found more parishes I'm interested in pre 1841..
Ug - by coincidence I find that a Berwickshire ancestor moved to Stow in 1768 (and who knows could have lived a tad longer). Since I posted I have found LUMSDEN ancestors to'ing and fro'ing between Berwickshire and Midlothian..

thus I noted 'Stow' has a headcount but no names (?)

Anything for Berwickshire, specifically Channelkirk?
Stirlingshire/Polmont
Lanarkshire/Stotts

Incidentally - which ones does it list as named for Warwickshire as the 1821 census for Coleshill has names of head of households (which a very nice friend found on a trip to the Warwickshire record office).

Terrific resource this book  :)
cheers

Hello,   I just found this thread !! But it is exactly what I have been looking for since I began my research a few years ago .  I have bees stuck on one family , Forbes  from Glen Tanar  , the name was John Forbes born abt 1799??  Glen Tanar , he then moved to Birse and He married Ann Thow from Angus in 1825 and   was a Toll house keeper in the 1840 census. If you could please see if you can find any thing in your book  it would be wonderful .   I also wondered if his family had a history of toll house keeping ?

                                          thank you  Melanie

Hi Melanie

Pam hasn't been online here since 2012 and I'm unsure as to whether she is still receiving email notifications that we are posting here.
