Hi Pam

Firstly apologies for not replying sooner.

Many thanks    for all your efforts.   :)   and to answer your questions  :

I don't know if Edwin Sherring was still alive in 1901.

That is the correct Caleb Sherring in 1891 and 1901, thanks.

The Mary J Sherring in 1901 in Camberwell is interesting too.

The Caleb Sherring marriage and death references will be useful thanks.

Jeannette and Edwin's Marriage was under Skerring but it is Sherring I am told.  I am in touch with someone who has done the SPENCER'S Tree.

Yes that is my Spencer's at 23 Catherine Street, Westminster, they were there for a few years.

Again Many thanks for all your efforts Pam.  I know how long these look ups can take.  It is good to get some things confirmed and you have found a few new things too.

best wishes
Reyz

Hi again Pam

Thanks, I have come across that Emily Perry before but I could not find anything to tie up the HILLS to my PERRY'S.

The PERRY'S mainly seemed to run Public Houses or be friends with other Publicans.  Alice herself worked in her brothers Pub prior to having Nan.  She also kept house for her father according to the Home records.  I wondered if she was the family dogsbody .   ???

I found  :
a Alice Perritt'  30 born Ldn (Perrie on the original) a domestic in Enfield Middx but again could not find any link. Tried the local record office too.

I cant imagine she would leave her family, they all stuck near each other.  Unless they wanted her out of the way?  I guess she could have died young, hope not.

There was also a Emily Vaughan 30 born Bow (as Alice was) in a pub in Shoreditch.  Husband Edward but think I have eliminated her..

Not too worry, I will get there  :)

Thank you again for your help and interest.
best wishes

Hi
There is a lady researching Caleb Sherring's family on GenesReunited-she was a direct relative and had him confused with my Caleb Sherrin of Twickenham for a while.
If you would like me to contact her on your behalf I could.
Carrie

Hi Reyz,
I have found this forum by accident while searching through Google. I am directly decended from Caleb Wyford Sherring and Mary Jane Caslake. They were my gt. grandparents. I feel we may have been in touch before but cannot find any record of it. My tree is on Ancestry and On Genes Re-united. Maybe I am the lady Carrie referred to.
I, too have been unable to find Edwin and Jeanette in 1901 or in 1911 censuses. May we exchange information please? My username for Ancestry is asmall51.
Regards, Anne Small

Hi Anne

Not turned up Jeanette and Edwin Sherring or Alice Perry on the 1911 Census.  Wonder if they were together?
I was told by a distant relative of hers that Jeanette was known as 'Janet'.

I do have a sub to Ancestry for a month so I will contact you on there. No sign of them on the new London records on there, but much more to come I think?

Thanks for the contact.   :)
