They were certainly with him in Limerick:

Discharged at Limerick, and given marching money for himself, his wife and two children to allow them to proceed to Dublin.

between 4- 6 women per company were permitted ( officially ) to accompany the Regiment abroad.
A company during the Peninsular war consisted of 200 men but was always understaffed. In fact most of the time the average company was about 100 men. 
Many women did follow their men abroad but usually had to make their own way. 
The book 'Following the Drum' is a good book to read if you want to find out more - you can buy a used one on ebay, for £2.

There is also another good book about army wives titled: Catherine Exley's Diary, the life and times of an army wife in the Peninsular War, edited by Rebecca Probert. I read this after finding our my 4x great grandmother was a camp follower.

What caught my eye was the words wife and two children Shaun mentioned.
John Lawrence joined the Military on the 5 May 1812 and married Ann Story on the 8 July 1812. They had seven children from 1819 to 1831 all in Kent that I knew about. If in 1819 their were two children then their must have been other children before 1819. William born in 1819 baptised on the 17 Oct 1819 in Plaxtol, Kent where his father was born could possibly have been one of the children with Ann.I have just found a George baptised on the 4 June 1815 in Wrotham, Kent with parents John and Ann which I believe could the other missing son.

Do you have any information on James Webster Redman born c1797 Great Eccleston, Lancashire - I believe he served in 54th Regiment of Foot and was a Chelsea Pensioner.

Hi Alan,
           He is not listed on my Waterloo roll, ( probably too young at the time ). 
After searching the National Archives - I have found him.  His name is recorded as 'Redmond' and he served with the 54th Foot and the 1st Life guards from 1822 - 1826. Redmond was discharged in 1826, aged 26. His service was brief, which would indicate a severe illness or accident. He must have been a very tall man for the the time, as the Life Guards recruited men of 6ft tall on average. 
His service documents are held at the National Archives:  WO 97/675/51

James W Redmond/Redman was indeed quite tall: 5' 11³/₄" per his discharge papers. But he spent only 5 days with the Life Guards, in February 1822. It's not clear why he was discharged but his service was treated as pensionable. 8 months later he enlisted in 54th Regiment and had risen to Sergeant by the time he was discharged in 1826.

Served in India, got a bamboo splinter in his foot which led to his discharge. He died in 1862.

Hi,
   There is only one man with the name 'joseph Bush' on the Waterloo Roll: he served with the 4th foot   in Captain Craig's company.  Sadly this is the only information I have on him.  There does not seem to be any records of him in the National Archives records. You might get further info from the muster lists.
