Readers please note that the originator of this "free lookup offer" hasn't logged in since October 2022. Some of us are filling in as best we can but we don't have access to his database.

To, Annette 128.
With reference to Samuel Brockley:   I have him on my roll as Samuel Bromley, which could be a corruption of Brockley.
Bromley was born in Denton, Lancashire and enlisted into the Royal Artillery on 21st April 1799, aged 18. His service papers state that he was promoted to Bombardier in June 1805 and Serjeant in Nov 1813. Bromley was discharged to a pension of 1s 10d per day at Woolwich on 30th June 1820.
Now this is where it gets interesting - I have him married to 'Elizabeth Davis' in 1818 at Pontefract ( the same as your information ). The 1851 census gives Bromley living at Howards Lane, Haughton, Lancashire, with his wife and 9 members of his family.  Although some of the data does not tie up with your own, it is another possibility to follow.
My main concern with Bromley is there is no reference to Waterloo on his service papers, where as Brockley is definitely shown on the Waterloo roll.
REF for Bromley is WO97/1215/240

Hi all, is anyone able to confirm if my 4 x Great-Grandpa, Joseph Lansley, served in the Battle of Waterloo? He was a Gunner in the 4th Battalion Royal Artillery, enlisting on 20 Jun 1812. He was discharged on 31 Oct 1818 due to the loss of his left eye. I assume this was from a combat injury as he was put on a pension of one shilling per day from 1 Nov 1818, which I can't see was ever reduced as he got older given he was receiving the same amount in 1834. I know the 4th Battalion RA had companies in Waterloo, but I'm not sure which company Joseph was in, or which battle/s he fought in. Any help appreciated! Other details about him, he was born in 1793 in Ludgershall, Wiltshire. After being discharged he married and raised a family in Collingbourne Ducis. He died in 1869.

Hi, unfortunately, he is not included on the Waterloo roll or my roll ( which consists of 36600 men ).
I did search the Royal Hospital Chelsea records, and he is listed under the name 'Lensley'. His information is the same as your own, so I suspect you have seen the same record. Also, there is no 'Waterloo' on his record, which would indicate that he served at the battle.
Regarding the loss of his left eye, it could have been caused by ophthalmia, which was quite common back then.
I am sorry if this information is disappointing for you.
Kind regards
Ed.

Thanks for the fast reply and checking it out Ed! I was feeling quite elated at the idea of him having been in Waterloo after having just watched the new Napoleon film - but it wasn't to be. Thanks again!
