Hi Val,
I think the best thing is to start at Day 1 with the PR and transcribe all EMBURY entries. Although this means looking at microfiches, which are often difficult to read, and also to mention the outdated English handwriting, I will do the best I can.
Fortunately there are members of staff at Glos Archives (GA) who can often be a great help interpreting entries
I'm not too busy at the moment due to GA PRs being digitalised, so I should be able to devote a reasonable length of time on your lookup.

Hi Val,
Yes, if Victor has time to spare then obviously you don't need to check through on Ancestry. However, I have a feeling the early burials are probably in the registers already online. I can see the marriages are at the back of the first register, and the burials might be in there somewhere, too. Never mind, I'm sure looking through the microfiches will keep Victor out of mischief for a while!

On the other hand, I think that the registers on Ancestry are available at the Archives anyway (free), so Victor might be able to take the more comfortable option.

Hi Val,
I tried checking the microfiche for St Mary, Bibury, commencing with the first entries dating from 1551. Unfortunately the entries are too hard to read with dark shading on the left and right. Also Bibury is quite like Embury!
I then checked the BTs, but these only date from 1740.
I have, therefore, pre-ordered the actual PRs, 2 volumes, for next Saturday morning and will get back to you. I can't promise to scan both volumes in one visit.

Thank you for your comments, I didn't know you had replied as I didn't get the usual e-mail notification.  Everyone is being so helpful and I really appreciate it but I am also checking every register I can to develop my tree.  I don't want people to think I am sitting back and letting others do all the work, I dedicate all day and every day to this project which I enjoy enormously.  I live in Suffolk and wish I was nearer to Glos. Elenor CAMBRAY the wife of Richard CAMBRAY was bur January 13, 1709.
Richard BAMBRY was bur December 10th, 1747.
No sign of a second marriage for Richard though.

Hi Victor,
That is a huge undertaking you offered to do for me regarding our previous correspondence and I don't blame you one bit if you have had a change of heart.  However, if I could just ask one favour the next time you are in the Glos. Archives and that is to check for a burial in Bibury 1628/9 for a Thomas Embury, Embry, Embrie or similar.  He was baptised on 13/12/1628 and another Thomas was baptised 9/12/1629 with the same father, so the first one must have died in between those dates or they are two separate families.  It would solve a lot of problems for me just knowing.  Thank you for all your input.   Val

Hi Val,
Well, I've checked the A******y Bibury PRs and can confirm the baptism dates of Thomas 13th December 1628 & Thomas 9th December 1629, Image 19.
However, I could not find any burial for the first Thomas. It is possible that the burial was recorded in another place in the PR, but it is a huge task to check every page.

Thank you so much for checking for that burial Victor and you can't do any more than that, - as you say, it might have been recorded out of date order as so often they are.  As and when they come online, I will trawl through, that should keep me busy lol!  Val
