Both Robert and his father William John were laborers. Witnesses were George Beggs and Jane Kennedy. I did check out the July 4, 1919 death and Robert was a bachelor in 1916 and the witness in 1919 was his son Thompson Ferris and I don't think a 3 yr. old would be a witness. Besides, Elizabeth was over 50 when they married. And Robert who died in 1919 was a widower.
Also checked Feb 14, 1935 and June 2, 1935 (was widower). and Oct 1936 (was widower). Maybe I should relook at Feb 14. Was married, was laborer whose address was 916 Crumlin Road. Is that Belfast? Witness was S. McIlhare, a name I don't recognise, present at death, address 2 Legmail St.
I have looked back at the 1911 and there is a Robert Ferris on Crumlin Rd., single, mill laborer. Living with brother John and sister Elizabeth. Robert was 49 so age agrees with Robert who died in 1935, age 72. But is he the right one? No will on Proni.
I just found the same three siblings in 1901 on Hillview Road, Shankill, with their widowed mother Eliza, age 80. Could this be the correct family? I don't know. This means William John died before 1901 if correct family.
