Birth/christening/parish records -- REYNOLDS

i'm looking for info on James REYNOLDS.  i'm in new england in the states.  with the plethora of spellings as an extra challenge i've only found his supposed birth 1625, Plymouth, Devon (Plymouth Unitary Authority.)  he emigrates 1st to Plymouth Colony then ends up in Rhode Island.  he may have been one of twins.  i can't seem to get correct father; may be John.  he'd be my 8X's grtgrd.  thank you for any help you can give me.

What details do you actually have, especially dates/places, arrival in USA?

i don't trust most of the info i have, but this is it:

born Plymouth, Plymouth Unitary Authority, Devon  13 May 1625
death Aug 1700 Rhode Island
father's name:  John/William??
married to Deborah POTTER or JORDAN??
James may have been one of twins??
one of his children, my apparent ancestor, would be Joseph, b. abt. 1652, likely in Rhode Island

Looking on the IGI rather than anywhere else to begin with most folks seem to cite James' birth as 13 May 1625 at North Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island not England. Death in August 1700, same place. Most folks have spouse as Deborah Potter with marriage at same place in 1647. Children cited as:
John Reynolds, birth:     12 October 1648, death:     24 June 1675
James Reynolds, birth:     28 October 1650, death:     1671
Joseph Reynolds, birth:     27 November 1652, death:     June 1739
Deborah Reynolds, birth:     17 February 1658, death:     1716
Francis Reynolds, birth:     22 October 1662, death:     14 April 1722
At least one contributor has James' parents as being William Reynolds and Esther both from UK.
So I would suggest your James was born in US not UK.

thank you pjm.  i checked igi also and that's why things are so confused.  check out findmypast, the u.s.  i'm trying to figure out all this contradicting info., where people got it, and where it's flawed.  nobody seems to know what sources are; and not just errors passed along on LDS, ancestry, etc. crazy-making for us genealogy detectives.
