I've looked at every BEACOCK family in my index and found only 2 Thomases who were born in the 1840s.

Make of this what you will-

2117/46
Winterton
Sarah GILLYATT (wid) 33 Annuitant, Messingham
Thomas (son) 10 Scholar, *Barnetby le Wold
*about a mile from Melton

2118/374
South Ferriby
George DANN 25 Tailor and Draper emp 1 man, Appleby
Charlotte 27 Bonby
Thomas BEACOCK (vis) 3 **Bonby
** about 4 miles NW of Melton

NOTE: there is the family of George (25) and Jane (26) BEACOCK in Bonby - they have a 1 year old and a new baby - perhaps that's why Thomas was sent somewhere else!

:D Many thanks Geoff for this. The 2nd option looks the strongest possibility.

I hope you are still around!  I realise this is an old post, but I am researching my Mum's family. Her grandmother was Rachel Sophia Beacock, born in Bonby and married to Charles Wright, blacksmith in Alkborough.

Her father was Joseph Beacock (1832-1921), and he had a brother George (1820-95) who married Jane Foster.

GeoffE does not appear to have used these boards since 2010 and melm not since 2012, unfortunately.  Though they may still be contacted when updates appear.

However, if not, do you have any specific queries for help?

Melm had Beacock and Wright in his research interests, so I was hoping we may have common interests!  Also hoped to confirm some of the Beacock line as I have not done much research on it yet.

Thanks for replying!

Hi Linnet,

It looks as though Sarah has already checked out the e-mail address for melm and left a note under the avatar to say "I am sorry but my email address is no longer working"

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Tables  or thought about adding your own ?

Scroll down to the bottom of (any RootsChat) page.
In the dark box, under "Your Tools" you will see "Surname Interests".

Click on that; then "Quick Search"; then select the initial letter ("?").

Scroll down to find ??? ; click on that and a list of ???? researchers will pop up.

You could also start your own thread on your Beacock line by asking your own questions, if you have a brick-wall to knock down or if you just require more info.  Always people willing to help on here.

Hope this helps.
Regards
Sandra

Hi Sandra.  Thanks for taking the time to reply.  I need to find some time to sit down and study this family!  There seem to be a lot of them in the North Lincs area, so it may take some time!
