« on: Friday 20 February 15 12:58 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Please can somebody help me identify the location of this Hospital?

The photo was taken sometime between May 1915 and Jan 1916 and in Sheffield.

Hope somebody can help me identify.

Thanks

James

I don't think so; its so similar but doesn't have the steps which is the main feature of my photo.

I don't think Wharncliffe should be dismissed completely. The steps may not have been at the main entrance.

Looking at the aerial view of Wharncliffe in the first link, it's obviously not a level site & the steps may have been down to the grounds from one of the many buildings, for instance the wing at far left of the picture.

I wonder if it could be the Woofindin Convalescent Home? It's an auxiliary hospital rather than a 'military' hospital in the strict sense (under War Office control) and there weren't many of those in Sheffield.  Because of the nurse uniforms it had to be taken before November 1915, and it looks fairly summery, so almost certainly summer 1915.

Hi, there is quite a bit of information on here which may be of some help.
The teacher training college looks to have similar grounds.

Regards
Frank.
