My grandfather Charles Edwin (Edward) Bruce 1896-1948, 57th Battalion AIF WW1. Where would I be able to find photos please? I have his war records but no photos. He married in England in 1916

Hi there,
Your Chap was in the Australian Imperial Forces. Some of the AIF soldiers were photographed when serving in France.

He also enlisted in WW2 and those records sometimes contain front and profile photos. You would need to purchase a copy by following the 'request copy' links on the NAA website.

I got my photographs from
www.awm.gov.au
and then searched for the name.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids. They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
