Thank you mj and Essie for you help, I was not aware Eliza Jane's maiden name was Bartram. I will see if I can check the baptism lists of St. Stephens Church for 1893.

Thank you again,

Yogi.

FamilySearch has these baptisms with parents John KRAUSE and Eliza Jane (no surname given for Eliza).  The older children were all  baptised 4 Aug 1886 at St James' Church, Melbourne, and show a birthplace:  E Melbourne
https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bsurname%3Akrause~%20%2Bbirth_place%3Aaustralia~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1885-1920~

John Thomas KRAUSE, born 15 Jan 1879,

Margaret Baxter KRAUSE, born 7 August 1881

Frederick Robert KRAUSE, born 17 Nov 1883,

Theodore KRAUSE, born 21 June 1886,

And then - (as already posted by Yogi)

Richard Charles KRAUSE, baptised 7 September, 1893 at St Stephen's church, Richmond, resident Richmond (this record does not give either parent's name).

I would guess that, for whatever reason, Richard's birth was not registered, or recorded wrongly.

Would have been a busy day getting 4 littlies ready to go to church.  :)  Judith

Here's another birth - you may already have these:

1896, Victoria #6367
Leslie Norman KRAUSE
Father's name:   Jno Krause
Mother's name:   Eliza Jane Bartram
Birth Place:   Richmond, Victoria

On this man's WW1 record his mother's name is given as Elizabeth ELLIS (shown on the index as Elles) , living at Park St South Melbourne, later at Albert Park.  Sadly Leslie KRAUSE was killed in action in Belgium, July 1917.  His WW1 record is quite long and includes some letters written by Elizabeth (as she calls herself) includin one where she asks about a watch he won in a running competition while in England.

I would like to thank everyone for helping me with the search for Richard Charles KRAUSE. Strange no parents names on baptism.

Thank you, Yogi.

Yogi, baptism records are not regulated, and it's up to the church whether they put parents' names in or not.  The information I posted is from the FamilySearch index and the names may actually be recorded in the register.

I have linked for you above where you can source the record and ascertain whether or not parental names are recorded on the Baptism at St Stephens .Reply #12

There is a good deal of information about the rest of the family that may or may not be relevant to your current inquiry. Let us know if more is required.
