That's how I read it Caz...maybe it refers to "No Colour"

I did think later at first as that style has a bit of date range, but with the info on the photographer, I'll put her down as early 20s.

Yes that style had a long shelf life...I have one of my Grandma with a similar waved hair do taken in the 40s but the style of clothing is very different from the lady in your photo....but...I've been wrong before
