Hiya China

You haven't seen anything yet!  I'm going to keep you busy for awhile.  I've expanded my hobby and becoming a collector as well as a restorer, so stay tuned!  :P

Have a look at the chap's footwear.  It looks to me like he's wearing spats could that throw a spanner in the works and bring it back to 1920s?

Also, look at the younger of the "mothers", is that trousers she's wearing?

Yeah, I saw the spats. I had heard that spats went out of fashion very suddenly, within a few minutes of the King showing up at some horse race without spats...the bushes were strewn with everyone else's discarded ones  ;D

But in formal morning attire they persisted for a while and I have seen a few photos on the net of men wearing them at weddings in the 30s. Douglas Fairbanks Jr was one of them.

The lady's trousers, yes, very daring and I haven't been able to find anything. But ladies' pants were much more common in the 30s, not much at all in the 20s.

Here's my scenario...it's Maman and Grandmaman in the photo...Maman knows she's torquing the old bat off with her scandalous transparent skirt revealing outrageous trousers underneath and is relishing every delicious moment of it. Grandmaman, on the other hand, has evidently been sucking green persimmons and if it weren't for Granddaughter's fortuitous catch of a very rich and childless widower she'd write the entire branch of the family out of her will the instant she got home... :P ;D ;D ;D

That wedding dress is still 1930s by me  :D

Cheers,
China

What a pity these people (or their descendents) wont see the lovely improvements that have been done on their wedding photos.

How often I've thought the same thing, Bev...

Now, this is weird...I just copied and pasted both photos into a Word doc for my own reference, and the first one pasted correctly. But the bride & groom photo appeared reversed!! No idea why. Upside down, I could understand, Down Undah and all that...... ;D ;D ;D

Hi Bev/China

I wish there was information on them, but sadly no.  Still at least by posting them, they are being enjoyed by Rootschatters!

Caz

PS China, can you look at "Not a Priority No 1" when you get the opportunity!
