County Long Jump Championships - Army
« on: Friday 06 February 15 22:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi I was wondering whether anyone could give some suggestions. My husband has just informed me that his father was a long jump county champion when he was in the army. His name is Gordon Morgan and he was born in Staffordshire.

Any ideas on where I could search for information on the county long jump?
Warwick: Scotland, Liverpool
Gordon: Liverpool
Calder: Scotland
Morgan: Staffordshire
Clamp: Staffordshire
Bannister: Staffordshire
Dacre: Staffordshire

Could you give an approximate indication of year, please?

Also, does he mean that the county was definitely Staffordshire, or could it have been an Open championship, so anywhere in the country?

Try and contact them for information?

Hi and thank you. unfortunately information is sketchy at the moment as only just heard about it. He was born in Walsall in 1932. So would be looking from 1948 onwards.
