How to get a copy of a will?
« on: Friday 06 February 15 17:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi, anyone able to tell me how to obtain a copy of an ancestor's will & how much this will cost, please?  He died in Huddersfield on 1 May 1966 & his will was proved in Wakefield on 19 May the same year.  Thank you, Pippa

They are £10 but make sure that it is not described as an administration or grant as you could be wasting your money

Thank you, Rosie & Carolanne - I've found the website and will get it ordered, who knows what it might reveal!  Yes, of course, there's nothing to get a copy of if the deceased died intestate - definitely a will here, though! Thanks for your very prompt help, Pippa
