Doesn't seem right either, I think this mans wife was a an Esther but if Mollies mother was Johanna it might be another clue

... thanks for this clue, Killarney Station is a long way from Narrabri, but the men went where the work was in those days and eventually (most times) returned to where "family" was, so as there were many Walsh's in Narrabri (including the baker and grocer) there could be a so far unfound association. Will keep this on the backburner

Also

Johanna Walsh 9/5/1953 Lismore.
States in the funeral notice she is the wife of Thomas Walsh of Gundurimba.

Yeppers, looking for Johanna Walsh and Thomas Walsh is nearly as bad as looking for Mary Smith and her hubby Charles Smith (a blacksmith in my own English tree) ... but got them sorted I will look at those Johanna's and see how/if they fit ... many thanks

I think you will find that this particular Killarney Station mentioned in the obituary is in the Narrabri district.

It seems in the light of the above, to reasonably speculate, Thomas and Michael WALSH were brothers
Each seems to have a son named Richard John and we know Richard is the name of the father of the Thomas WALSH who died near Narrabri.

No street numbers listed on the electoral roll.

V* MICHAEL WALSH (Boot Manufactuier) are respectfully informed that his Funeral will leave Ins late residence, Glen Osmond-road, Parkside, on WEDNESDAY, at 3.30 p.m., for the Catholic Cemetery, West-terrace.

There are numerous references in the South Australian papers to the Bootmaker Michael WALSH and his wife advertised it t for sale after his death.

I am no good at SA research at all, but can we see the parents of Michael WALSH who died in 1909?
It may be the case that Johanna was visiting her sister in law Mary Agnes WALSH.

No, I didn't miss it, but the notices for Michael WALSH place him sometimes in Young Street ( no street number)  and other times another address in Parkside.

... in some earlier reading I do recall Eleanor was also called Nellie, perhaps in her childhood.
... and am over the moon that you found W. Aust connection as that could/would explain Eleanor's (aka Ellen and/or Nellie) nursing training in Perth (I had noticed the Sydney Hospital on her service records and as it stated "Charge Theater Nurse" I assumed that she didn't want to "big note" herself when she volunteered). Will put more work into that area as Perth Walsh could be a relative

Who was Michael WALSH's father and where did he marry Mary Agnes ?
