Pryce,

I don't know whether or not you have any census information for your PRYCE/ASTLEY families, but in 1861 I have found the following:-

RG9/4247, folio 75, page 1 - Wtragau in the Parish of Llanwnog, Township of Uwchllawrcoed

Richard Astley Head 49 Farmer of 8 acres
Jane Astley Wife 40 Farmer's Wife
Jane Astley Daughter 10
Margaret Astley Daughter 3
Ann Astley Daughter 3 months

All were born in MGY Llanwnog.

I have looked for George Pryce with father William and found nothing, although the family listed below may be a possibilty ??? ??? Spelt Price.

RG9/1841, folio 77 page 49 - Snead Cottage, Parish of Snead Montgomeryshire

William Pice Head 44 Ag Lab
Ann Price Wife 40
Ann Price Daughter 12 Scholar
George Price Son 9 Scholar

William was born in MGY Kerry, Ann & daughter Ann were both born in SAL Chirbury, and George was born in MGY Snead.

Hi Vicki

Glad that I could be of some help.

I have hundreds of JONES in my tree but the majority of them are from Llanidloes, and no connection to yours I'm sorry to say.

Is there a slight possibility that the George Price that I found for you in 1861 could be yours?  Just because the surname is spelt differently doesn't mean that you should rule him out.  Quite often enumerators made many mistakes when taking down the family details - I'm sure I would spell Price with an "I", unless someone corrected me!!!!

Do you know where George was born?

Jan

Hi Vicki, I have left messages for you on a number of other Genealogy sites as I have a  MARTHA  PRYCE in my familytree dated 1861 Census married to Henry BEDDOW, it says she was from Berris, her mother Ann PRYCE was from Chesbury or Chetbury and she also had a niece called Charlotte Rowland from Llantoham.
Any link to your past requests?

Hi Vicki, only know marthas surname because her mother and niece Charlotte were in the house when the 1861 census was recorded.
She is recorded as coming from Berris but I believe that this is a spelling mistake.
Good luck with the search
