St Mark, Kennington Surrey Lookup
« on: Monday 26 January 15 04:55 GMT (UK) »
I am hoping someone can help me, I am trying to clear up marriages I have found to a Frederick Tyler Russell, the first one was in 1843 and was at St Mark, Kennington Surrey to Emma Underwood this is a non conformist church, now I do have details of their status, fathers name, found on Ancestry and Find my past. What I need is Fredericks occupation, fathers occupation, and the witnesses.  I have looked for children to this marriage and think that there may be 2?????
There is more to Frederick Tyler Russell puzzle with wives and children which is in Victoria Australia, it is complicated to go into.

Hi Leonie

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

St Mark's Kennington isn't a non-conformist church.

The registers have been deposited at the London Metropolitan Archives and are available online at Ancestry.

However, it was noted in 2010 that Marriages 1834-1845 are missing from the Ancestry site.

Researchers in and around London who go to the archives are few and far between, you may have a bit of a wait.

Alternatively, if you can't find another source for this information or can't wait, then you can purchase a copy from the General Register Office for £9.25 quoting this reference

thank you for all those with trying to help. Frederick Tyler Russell is a puzzling one. I am trying to work out if there is only one or two. The information I have, said the one born in Woolwich, Kent  is the one married to Jane Burt 1845. It is possible that this Frederick came as a convict 1847 Australia on the Marion supposedly to Tasmania but I cannot find any more information on him until he is have children to Jane Burt 1853 Victoria and a couple of children after  this, his occupation is a chemist/druggiest and he then marries 1874 to a Jane Small and he is a druggiest.
The other Frederick Tyler Russell marries a Frances Sweeney in 1855 in Victoria but they have a child called Frederick in 1854, and on this marriage and birth the child's  father is called Frederick Russell but no Tyler in the middle. but he is a Surgeon and born Gravesend, Kent. This Frederick born 1854 marries in Queensland and he is known as Frederick Tyler Russell. In a newspaper announcement for this marriage it said that Frederick Tyler Russell was the second son of Frederick Tyler Russell, Surgeon of London, when he dies 1938 the information says his father is Frederick Tyler Russell and Frances Sweeney.
On the marriage to Frances Sweeney it did say that Frederick was a widow of 6 years and had 2 children deceased this is a mystery too?????
So now you see my dilemma is this Frederick Tyler Russell that marry's Emma Underwood is he a surgeon too? Is he the same one that marry's Jane Burt? Is he the same one that marry's Frances Sweeney?
I have even looked at his marriage signatures that I have to  Frances Sweeney and Jane Burt and Jane Small but they don't seem to  match.
Both Fredericks are born around the same time and I cant pinpoint him in the censuses

The Frederick Tyler Russell who was transported in 1847 was said to be aged 22 when convicted in February 1846 and was described as a surgeon in newspaper reports.
