My name is Paul Bannon, my father was Dr Dominic Bannon 1929-1999 his father was Dominic Bannon 1906-1988 all born in belfast. They originally came from Caserta in Italy. Laurenzo was born in 1830 and arrived in Dublin and moved to Glasgow where he died in 1903. He was a Moulder by trade and had an ice cream shop in Glasgow when he died. His son Dominic died in the workhouse on Belfast’s Lisburn Road. His son married a girl called Roseanne Cheverini and her father was a musician.
The name Changed from Bonino, to Bonnon ( an x mark on a wedding cert) then to Bannon. There are many Bannon’s in Belfast. My Great Grandfather was an upholsterer and had a successful business. His son Dominic started a furniture business in 1935 which closed a few years back. The photo was taken mid 1930’s. My Great Granfather is wearing the bowler hat with his arm around his wife. My Grandfather is on the extreme right.
