Looks good then for West Thorn (or is it all one word) Westthorn , Lanarkshire.
Have to admit I've never heard of it before  :P


It appears as both West Thorn and Westthorn, Looby and I'd never heard of it either even though I did a lot of research on mining sites!  :-\

PS. Would have thought perhaps the family would be in Barony/Shettleston area at time of 1841 given that young Thomas's age is correct.

Possibly closer than you might think - just east of there you still have an area called Westhorn although it looks like all that is left is Westhorn Drive

But East Kilpatrick is in Dunbartonshire and Stirlingshire, isn't it?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Forfarian it was only one child of the family born Westthorn they had moved  ;D
