I'm sure Kelberty will confirm this, but I've found a School Record for a Jemima TOOVEY, (purported) date of birth 29 July 1869, residence Warkworth, admitted to Warkworth School on 9 Sept 1884, discharged 28 Nov 1884, destination 'Service'. Parent/Guardian was Mrs TOOVEY.
I can't find a record of this child's birth on NZ BDM.
This is four years after Abraham (aka John/Jack) TOOVEY's death by drowning.
And diverting back to the Caduceus, from my perusal of the articles she was one of a number of packets working the London-New Zealand run, and operated by Messrs Willis Gann & Co. I suspect that she was given an urgent contract to bring the newly-attested military volunteers across to Auckland.
see Daily Southern Cross, 15 September 1863, Page 1 Advertisements.
And there's this report:
Press, 8 October 1863, Page 2
