Have you checked the 1911 census for her?  If she was a widow at that time it will at least give you sufficient info about her to work backwards.

Have you looked for her on the 1871 or 1881 censuses both of which are free here

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list?page=1&region=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

You presumably have more info about her than you have given here??

Hi Rosie - I checked them up earlier after reading the article. I couldn't find a suitable marriage either, so gave up  :-\

This is a possible

Two others, it could be a second marriage so her maiden name might be different!

March 1879 Ledbury 6a 589
Emma Sheen and William Groves on same page

June q, 1884, Bristol 6a 25
Emma Brothers and William Groves on same page

Would it be worth following up the relative, mentioned in the article

They seem to be in Breden Gloucestershire in 1871, and William at home in Ross on Wye in 1861,
Remote possibility
William groves to Emma hastings July 1866. Bishops Ryder Birmingham

Hi Gadget like you I was wondering if this was her second marriage as going by the later census she said she had been married 35years ...So that would make her about 37 years and a marriage in 1876 ?
