Hi,

My biological great grandfather Gilbert Walter Coventry married a Margaret Milligan and had 6 children, my grandfather was one of those children called Arthur Rogers Coventry.

My paternal Coventry lines go back to the Earls, I've only just been looking at all this recently as Coventry was my birth name and I've never tried to look for my biological grandparents until recently.

Arthur died in 1975 and his wife died in 1980 so I would of never known them anyway, just the timing of the births probably isn't your usual as my birth father was born when his father was 50 and I was born when my birth father was 50. So there's a century gap between my birth and my grandfathers birth.

I'm trying to find out more about my great grandfather Gilbert who moved to Canterbury , NZ and married a Milligan in 1880, also has a military record to look into.

Others have said about there being a lot of Hugh Milligans, so I'm just seeing if there's a connection at all.

Regards,

Trent

Hi everyone,

Hugh Milligan is also my triple-great grandfather. I'm descended from his daughter Mary Anna Florilla Milligan, through her youngest child (of five, that I know of), named Joseph Bertie Beveridge.

Brent, thank you for mentioning the possible connection with the Coventry's. Joseph enlisted for the Boer War and for WWI under the name Henry Coventry, and it's been a mystery to me where that name could have come from.
