Hi,
Apprentice records can be seen at the National Archives, these records record when stamp duty
was paid on Indentures 1710 -1811.
The records can be seen on Ancestry.co.uk, if you do not have subscription, many local libraries
offer free access.
This said I have searched for John Amos, without success. However there may be transcription
errors for Amos.
As ever not everyone "joined this tax club", and some local collectors absconded with the money
so names were not recorded.
