Samsung mobile phone
« on: Saturday 03 January 15 23:06 GMT (UK) »
My OH has a Samsung mobile phone ( I think it's a Wave Y model) and after charging it up today it just keeps switching on and off.
Any ideas as to what is wrong with it please

Thanks Mo

Hi, looking online one thing could be the battery is not connecting properly. Turn off the phone, remove battery and clean the three gold points that connect it to the phone. Replace and turn on.
Hope that solves the problem.

Advice from my phone provider some years ago 'Take out the Sim card & blow on it, they can get dusty'. It worked.  ;)

We had similar advice from Sky when it occasionally played up only this time it involved the viewing card. It worked too.  ;)

Good luck.

How low was the battery before charging? perhaps the charge didn't work that time? have you tried turning on the phone while it was on the charger?

Hopefully you are aware of the Samsung shops, which do offer a repair service if needed, and of course advice. Unfortunately there aren't that many in the country, but worth checking on your nearest.

Apologies for the late reply, thank you for the suggestions

roopat blowing on Sim card didn't work

aghadowey Oh has tried recharging but it continually switches off and on every few seconds

Redroger Our dau had issues with the nearest Samsong shop to us and does not recommend it, it wasn't an expensive phone so it may be cheaper to get another one

Thanks again

Mo; Our local Samsung shop is fine, but I realise they may vary. The answer surely is to complain locally and if that doesn't help to their head office.

Hi Redroger

Dau had no problem with the repair as it worked fine when she managed to get it back. They give her a time when it would be ready but when she went to pick it up it wasn't and it took three visits before she managed to get it back. Knowing her someone somewhere is getting a blasting :)

Leaving OH now to decide what he is going to do about his own phone

Thanks
