								Hi Trevor
Thank you for all the hard work you have put in on Frances.
This is all that I really have about Frances herself:-
Transcript:  Banns of marriage between Richard Marchel of Gt. Waltham, Batchelor & Frances Gunnel of this Parish, Spinster were duly published in this Church on Sundays, Octobr 3, 10, 17 by me J Firebrace
Richard Marchel & Frances Gunnel were married in this Church by Banns this fourth day of November by me J Firebrace
This marriage was                The mark of X Richd Marchel
solemnized between us        The mark of X Frances Gunnel
In the prescence of               John Gunnell    John Smith
Frances was buried at Gt. Leighs on 4th Sept. 1829, aged 77.
Between 1781 and 1803, Richard and Frances had eight children.  All baptised in Gt. Leighs (PR) and all recorded as Marshall.  I believe that the eldest, Edward (1781) is my ancestor and that it was he, who married Elizabeth Bearman in 1803 in Fairsted.
I have found later Gunnells in census records, living in Black Notley who were bapt. at the Braintree Independent chapel (London Road – I think).  Apparently there are also records for Bocking End CF for births 1738- 1857  and this might be a  'last chance' hope!
Kind regards
Noreen
