Malpas

Please can anyone with knowledge of this village help? I remember my parents taking me to visit a relative of my father, ?his aunt. I distinctly remember she lived in a Cheshire County Council built bungalow. It would have been approx 1958 to 1963. I realise that my possible best chance is to look at the electoral rolls and then track back to look for a connection. It would really help if anyone could narrow down the streets and bungalow numbers. I don't know her name so its going to be a process of elimination. Thanks

If no-one gets back to you, have you considered using google maps or similar to look for bungalows - Malpas is not very big, about 1600 people.

In addition:
'Malpas expanded again in the years following the Second World War. First with the building by the local authority of the Springfield Estate followed by housing around Leech Road and Mercer Close and in the Oathills area.'

Hi, chempat, thanks for your help. I have identified a few bungalows on google maps, but was hoping that a local resident could point me in a more very focused way. i.e. bungalow numbers and the specific roads etc. I appreciate your help.
Thanks
Regards

Nice? to hear Mercer Close mentioned.... after my mother's family. (Alice) her aunts , Nell and Amy and 'Uncle Tom' lived next door to the Jubilee Hall. My grandmother, Millie Mercer. nee Richards, lived  at the first house on Oathill Lane................

KimH,

Can you remember which roads the bungalows were on?

No, I've only ever been once on that development and that was many years ago.

Hi,
If it helps at all, my great grandmother died at 29 Old Hall Street, Malpas in 1954.

When we visited Malpas a few years ago, we visited the address which appeared to be a council bungalow which was one of several bungalows built around a central grassy area with a seat on it. I imagined her sitting there in good weather.

Her name was Mary Ann Pridding known as Molly. her maiden name was Hassle.

If you look on google maps satellite view, you can see the area just to the right of where B5395 is written.

Good Luck with your search
